A wedding at Morgado do Quintão
There are some couples you connect with instantly and that's pretty much how I felt with Lucie and Neil. There was an ease to them. A warmth. And above all, a deep love for the people around them. Their wedding day wasn’t just beautiful, it was a true reflection of who they are!
A morning rooted in connection
Lucie and Neil chose to let go of traditional preparations. Instead, they wanted something real: memories of their closest people coming together, creating the day alongside them. There was no rush, no pressure. Just laughter, quiet moments, helping hands, and that feeling of shared anticipation. Everyone had a role, in one way or another.
It didn’t feel like “getting ready.” It felt like the beginning of something meaningful.
The circle of Love
The ceremony was one of the most powerful moments of the day. Set in a circle, with Lucie and Neil at the center, it completely redefined the way the moment was experienced. There was no distance between them and their guests — only closeness, presence, and connection.
Everyone could see them. Everyone could feel it.
And all of this took place beneath one of the most iconic elements of Morgado do Quintão: its ancient olive tree, believed to be around 2,000 years old. Standing there, surrounded by so much history and rootedness, made the moment feel even more meaningful.
Led by their friend Jessie, the ceremony carried a deeply personal and intimate tone. It was simple, honest, and profoundly theirs.
THE COUPLE SESSION
Right after the ceremony, we stepped away for their portraits. Instead of waiting for golden hour, they embraced the stronger, brighter light of the afternoon, creating something a little more raw, a little more striking.
But what truly defined those moments wasn’t the light. It was them. Playful, relaxed, completely at ease with one another. No forced poses or expectations, just the two of them as they are.
A cocktail full of life
As the day unfolded, the energy only grew. The cocktail hour was vibrant. You could feel how loved they are, and how every single person there mattered.
The highlights included Neil's father’s speech and the a cappella singing by the Trinitones, with Neil himself joining in.
Dinner, words, and meaningful details
Dinner carried the same warmth. Lucie's father and Neil both gave speeches that felt incredibly personal: the kind that make you laugh one second and tear up the next.
After dinner, then came the cake. Made by Neil’s younger sister, it was more than just a beautiful detail. It was a gesture of love, something created with care and intention (and it didn’t go unnoticed!).
A celebration that felt like them
Party time! Amazing live music, genuine energy, and a dance floor filled with people fully present in the moment.
It wasn’t about perfection. It was about feeling.
This wedding was, in every possible way, a reflection of Lucie and Neil. Honest. Emotional. Deeply connected to the people they love. And truly unforgettable.
I wouldn’t have imagined it any other way.
