A small celebration at The Vineyard Albufeira: Love, Laughter and Happy Tears



Some weddings leave a mark on me and this one at The Vineyard in Albufeira, Portugal, was exactly that. With their closest people by their side, Joana and João lived a day that was more than beautiful: it was deeply felt. The kind of wedding where emotions run high, hugs last longer and every detail feels personal.

Joana and João began their day in the Lagos area, getting ready separately with their closest friends and family. There was a calm, joyful vibe in the air—soft conversations, warm hugs and emotional glances. It was the perfect slow start before everything unfolded!


The ceremony took place outdoors at The Vineyard Albufeira, one of my favourite Algarve wedding venues. It was incredibly emotional — there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. The vows were personal, the setting was simple, yet elegant and the connection between the couple and their guests was truly special.

Dinner was indoors with an U-shape table setting and twinkling lights. And then came the speeches. Just wow. They were funny, deeply moving and full of love. You could feel how much the couple meant to everyone in the room. As a wedding photographer in the Algarve, these are the moments I live for: authentic, unfiltered emotion that tells a story all on its own.


Of course, no celebration in Portugal is complete without a good party and this one didn’t disappoint! Once the music started, the dance floor filled up instantly and stayed packed all night. The energy was electric with everyone celebrating the newlyweds in the best way possible.

One of the things I loved most about this wedding was how connected everyone felt. When a couple invites you into such a personal space and trusts you to capture every emotion, every hug, every happy tear, it’s something I never take for granted.


And this time, it went beyond just the wedding day. Joana and João really turned into friends. Real and good ones. The kind you keep in touch with long after the final gallery is delivered. That’s the magic of weddings like this one: they’re not just beautiful, they’re real and they leave a mark on your heart.
